  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten-Free Option

Description

A quick and delicious weeknight meal featuring savory ground beef, aromatic garlic, and a hint of sweetness, served over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add the ground beef.
  2. Brown the meat until cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Drain any excess fat if needed.
  4. Add the minced garlic and sauté for one minute until fragrant.
  5. Mix in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes; stir well.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  7. Serve the ground beef over prepared rice and garnish with green onion slices.

Notes

For a lighter option, use lean turkey instead of beef. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
