- 2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Butter (for greasing the baking dish)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Cut the bread into cubes and place half of it in the baking dish. Scatter half of the blueberries on top.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully combined. Pour half of this mixture over the bread and blueberries.
- Layer the remaining bread and blueberries over the first layer, then pour the rest of the egg mixture on top. Press down gently to ensure everything is soaked.
- Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, use almond milk instead of regular milk. Stale bread works perfectly for added texture.
