- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- Additional granulated sugar for rolling
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the water and 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil while stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Add fresh cranberries to the boiling syrup and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cranberries cool in the syrup for about 1 hour.
- Drain cranberries in a colander and roll in additional sugar until thoroughly coated.
- Spread sugared cranberries on a baking sheet and let dry for about 1 hour.
- Serve as a garnish or enjoy as a snack.
Notes
For best results, use fresh cranberries. You can infuse the sugar syrup with spices for added flavor. Store in an airtight container.
