Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Additional granulated sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the water and 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil while stirring to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Add fresh cranberries to the boiling syrup and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cranberries cool in the syrup for about 1 hour.
  4. Drain cranberries in a colander and roll in additional sugar until thoroughly coated.
  5. Spread sugared cranberries on a baking sheet and let dry for about 1 hour.
  6. Serve as a garnish or enjoy as a snack.

Notes

For best results, use fresh cranberries. You can infuse the sugar syrup with spices for added flavor. Store in an airtight container.
