Description

Classic Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies with a crispy exterior and soft, chewy center, perfect for any cookie lover.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
  4. Add vanilla extract and eggs; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Drop rounded tablespoon of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and don’t overmix the dough. Cookies can also be served with vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat.
